1.Composition: a.Orientation: This image was shot head on to create the feeling that the viewer just walked into the gallery.
b.Lighting: The lighting is natural to make it as close to walking into the gallery as possible (the light sources being the above lighting in the gallery and the window light)
c.Visual Design Elements (spot/line, shape/pattern, emphasis/balance): Geometric squares create balance, pattern and carry the viewer’s eye throughout the image.
2.Aboutness & Motivations & Method: I first took magazine images/ads and defaced them with nail polish. The images have a slightly dark connotation that relate to the questioning of the face of mass society, popular culture and the fashion world in general.
3.Context: The poster creates the illusion of a gallery show. Images are seen in a location where they would normally not be viewed.
4.Interpretation: This was well accepted by the class. I think this is because of the multiple layers and elements the picture holds.
5.Evaluation: This image was successful; however, it needs to be refined in order to be more successful.
6.Extension: I had a lot of fun defacing the magazine pages and plan to do more of this. I would also like to refine this image to make it more believable.
